Woo Hoo…the hinkiest fairy godmother in the universe rides again!

Delta Jane is back and Loons of a Feather is now a reality.  Yep, I made it…got it loaded, proofed, and released on time.  Was there really any doubt I would get there in time, you ask?  Well hell yes…it’s me, people!  Did you forget who you were talking to?  I’m the master procrastinator and there was much panic, many late nights, lots of bleary-eyed cursing sessions, and twisted belly pains.  But my new novel, Loons of a Feather, is finally available on Amazon.   Yeah…happy dancing across the pasture again.  Ya-Hoo!  (Throws cowgirl hat in the air.)

Link to buy:
Loons of a Feather (print or ebook)

Well, to be honest with you, the official release date is tomorrow—February 1—but if you were to go to Amazon right this very minute, it’s up and available for order.  So pass the word!  Tell your mother, your sister, your neighbor, your cousin, your niece, your grocery store clerk, your therapist, your gynecologist…tell ‘em all!!!  Wait…maybe not your therapist…Delta might not help your cause any.  J  And don’t forget to tell the guys too.  I was amazed at how many men bought a copy of Katie’s Rock and Midnight on the Double-B at my book signing last weekend…some as Valentine’s gifts for their sweetie and some as Valentine’s gifts for themselves.  So contrary to popular opinion, men DO buy romance…at least, the smart ones do.  J

Don’t forget to tell me if you like the cover or not…I designed and created it myself and I’m not above begging shamelessly for compliments.  LOL  And if you click on the link at the top, it will take you straight to the book on Amazon where you can order it either in print or e-book format.  Yeah again!

Now…if you are local and looking for a print copy, I’d much rather you come see me next weekend at the Chocolate Affaire where I will also have Katie’s Rock and Midnight on the Double-B.  (Hint:  You can get the book cheaper there at conference pricing and without the shipping charges.  Who doesn’t love cheaper?!)

In case you haven’t yet read Midnight on the Double-B and are still undecided on buying a copy of Loons of a Feather—or someone you know is still undecided—follow this link to Amazon Friday 1/31 through Monday 2/2.  The e-book version of Midnight on the Double-B will be FREE…yes, FREE…for 3 days.  Pick up your e-book, read it next week, and if you fall in love with Delta, zoom back to Amazon for your copy of Loons of a Feather…or trot over to the Chocolate Affaire next weekend and get your signed copy from yours truly.

Midnight on the Double-B
Midnight on the Double-B (free)

Remember, Midnight on the Double-B is a short story and a fast, easy read—and it’s the precursor to Loons of a Feather, which is Book One in the Delta Jane series.  So for those of you who wanted more of Delta…here she is.  I hope you enjoy her!!!

Oh, one more thing—leave a comment here by midnight Saturday (2/1) for a chance to win a free copy of Loons of a Feather in e-book format.  So leave a comment and I will contact you when the winner has been drawn.  What could be better?  A cranky, hinky fairy godmother…and FREE.  Yeah, baby!

That’s my story, wahoo and wazoo, and I’m stickin’ to it.  Hang on tight now ‘cuz we’re gonna go real, real fast!

Love ya,

Kayce

Spirited by Mary Behre

Set in a coastal town where the crimes are getting stranger by the minute, Juliana Scott wants to be normal.  In other words, not see ghosts and be mauled by them at their convenience.

Seth English, the hottie cop in town, meets his new neighbor in the most unconventional way.  Jules lands in his apartment dressed as a hooker and with an explanation.Spirited

Her explanation was easier than telling English a ghost had told her to do it.  Ghosts tell her to do a lot of things and help her get mixed up in a diamond heist.

English is reluctant to get involved with Jules if she’s on the wrong side of the law.

Fast-moving, suspicious characters, and a mystery to crack even with the help of the screaming ghosts.   This is a delightful read and unless you’re psychic, the ending will come as a surprise.

Spirited is a Berkley Sensation March 2014 release and can be pre-ordered.

Happy reading,

Dawn

Cristal Ryder Heats Up Winter with Four for the Show

January has flown by. We here in the cold and blowy north of Ontario have had a heck of a winter. Just like when I was a kid. I can truly, honestly say that if Old Man Winter stopped by to ask me for some hot cocoa or stronger, I’d hold him hostage until he cut the crap on this winter business. I’ve. Had. Enough.

Okay, I admit this picture is pretty. Taken after the Great Ice Storm of Christmas 2013 at Fairy Lake, Acton, Ontario. Brrrr.

I envy Lexi in the sunny warm south. With nary a snowflake to be found. Warmth, sun, sand, turquoise waters and swaying palms. Paradise with a capitol P.
Now, this is much better if you ask me. Ahhhh.

But, if you want to get yourself heated up a little bit I have the perfect suggestion. Four For The Show. My newest release. It’s hot, has three very sexy men paying all kinds of attention to our lucky heroine. Plus there are some surprises that I won’t spoil for you.

Have you ever wanted to watch or be watched? :)

Blurb
Spectator Sex. Intriguing. Risqué. The idea of watching other people have sex excites Tara to distraction. She hopes Joe is as eager as she to slip into voyeur mode so they can take another step in their sexual adventures. The last thing she expects is to evolve from watching ménages to being part of the show. Or for the two hot men who join her and Joe to not be able to keep their hands off each other.
Inside Scoop: In addition to being with three men, our lucky heroine gets a little foreplay of the female variety.

Excerpt
I chewed my lip and read the tweet. Dare I?

I widened my eyes and read it again then sucked in a deep breath as I positioned the curser over the words. Before I could change my mind, I highlighted, right-clicked, saved and pasted it into an email for Joe.

Get hot and wet @desireafterdark Friday night w/#spectatorsex #sexclub #couples #singlewomen

My heart pounded and after just a nanosecond of hesitation I hit Send then laced my fingers together, clutching tightly, and rested my chin on them. How long would it take for a reply? Sure I had work to do, but right now I was dying to know what he’d say.

We were fairly new, a fresh couple who wasn’t really a couple. We’d met a few months ago and had jumped in the sack pretty much right away. Our chemistry was almost uncontrollable and the sex was great. No it was fucking unbelievable. We’d just clicked, both in and out of bed. But we were not a forever couple and had made it clear to each other right off the top. It wasn’t as if there were anything wrong with him. Joe was incredibly hot and knew all my buttons. He’d be a perfect forever partner, but I just wasn’t ready for that yet.

One thing we’d never discussed was going to a sex club. Hadn’t even talked fantasies or desires, or secret wants. Yet. Now was the perfect time to start. Holy shit. Well, this email would certainly separate the men from the boys.

Spectator sex. Now that was intriguing. I hadn’t really given it thought before, but a little twizzle of excitement made me catch my breath. It meant we could go without any self-imposed pressure of having to join into any groups. Sit in the back. Watch. Get hot, horny and wet. And fuck.

I sat up when a new message announced its arrival into my inbox with a ping. That was quick. It hadn’t taken Joe long to reply and if that were any indication, I knew exactly what his answer would be.

Clicking the message open, I smiled. Guess who’s going out to party tonight!

Lexi on Muscles and an Ellora's Cave Calendar Giveaway

Let's Talk Muscles

What is it about a muscular hero in a romance novel? For women, there is just something about the image in one’s mind or on the cover of well-developed biceps, pectorals or abdominal muscles.  Yes, sometimes we are treated to a well-defined back or thigh, but the upper torso rules the day.

It does make sense that women would be so attracted to the well-developed physique. After all, men are often attracted to a well-endowed chest, a bit of booty, or even legs that appear to go on forever. All cliché, true, but cliché because it is a typical interest.

So what is it that gets your blood pounding? Is it the chest, the abs, the arms? What about the ass, the thighs or rock hard calves? Men used to be asked if they were a breast man or a leg man (no, we aren’t talking chicken here), so I ask you, what type of woman are you when it comes to a physical trait. I’m looking for shallow answers here.

One lucky person will win the 2014 Ellora’s Cave calendar. Yes, it’s one of those calendars that you can’t put up at work ;-) Do tell. What part of the male body are you hopelessly addicted to?

Always, Lexi

A Trip to Paradise

As you are reading this, I am arriving in the US Virgin Islands! Can you feel my anticipation? My excitement? Can you see my face pressed against the plane’s window?
I’m so looking forward to this trip. Of course, I have the most incredible hosts for my week in paradise—the mistress of this blog and her wonderful husband (who also happens to be an incredible cook). And the venue for this vacation? A house on the beach with ocean views! What could be more perfect?
My husband and I have made this trip before and we both fell in love with this island Eden. There’s plenty to do (a little bit of something for everyone) and the people here are fantastic – warm and welcoming! On our last trip, my husband discovered he loved snorkeling (me? Not so much…the panic attack was not pleasant, however, I am more than willing to try again).
I’m also looking forward to the sunset cruise on a tall ship (yes, for research purposes because there's another sea-faring adventure waiting to be written), but what I’m really looking forward to (aside from quality time spent with my DH) is spending time with my friends. Phone calls and emails are good, but seeing someone, face to face, over a cup of coffee or a meal is so much better! I love being able to see the animation on someone’s face while they’re talking…and you know what we’ll be talking about….books, of course! What we’ve read, what we’re working on….maybe we’ll get to do a little brain storming! Whoooo-hoooo!
   Until next time, happy reading!
Marie

Interview of M.S. Spencer and Giveaway of THE MASON'S MARK

Alexis: Today we have Contemporary Romance author, M.S. Spencer who has just released The Mason’s Mark. Welcome M.S. When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

M.S.: Right after the doctor spanked my newborn behind.

Alexis: Hmm, that's pretty early :-) So everyone has their own writing process…how they come up with ideas, how they name their characters, how they choose the setting. Can you describe your writing process?

M.S.: I usually start with the setting, then move right on to the last sentence. Everything in between takes forever. I'll write a quick first draft—more like a glorified outline—then fill in the gaps over the next few drafts. In the case of The Mason’s Mark, I thought it would be cool to have a dead body appear on the observation deck way above the city. Then I had to do lots of research on masons and George Washington. But I always stick with my last sentence.

Alexis: Very interesting process. What are you working on now?

M.S.: Tentatively entitled Whirlwind Romance, it's the story of a woman who returns to her home not knowing everyone had been evacuated ahead of a hurricane. She discovers a man shipwrecked in her mangrove swamp. Don't ask me how this happened, but he ends up being a prince, second son of the Grand Duke of a tiny Caribbean island.

Alexis: Really? I live on a Caribbean island. Let me know if you have any questions :-) What has been the most memorable fan comment you ever had?

M.S.: I don't think it's printable here :). Suffice it to say, it was from a guy.

Alexis: Gotcha. Can you tell us your story of getting “the call”?

M.S.: Oh, that was way back in 2008. I had timidly emailed my publisher asking if she'd had a chance to look at my submission and got a reply that said, "Oops, did I forget to tell you we loved it and want to publish it?" And there I was, alone in this empty space, with no one to hear my squeal.

Alexis: Wow, that is a great example of why authors should follow-up! Where did you get the idea for your latest release?

M.S.: Up until this spring, I lived in Old Town Alexandria. The George Washington Masonic Memorial sits on a high hill and can be seen from all over the area. It's a fascinating building, containing exhibits on freemasonry and a museum of George Washington artifacts. With so much mystery surrounding freemasonry, I thought it would be a good backdrop for a murder mystery. Then when I began to do research, hoo boy. I began with basic sites on Masons, but my Google search led me into a strange world of global intrigue and crime. I followed one thread to a fake Masonic lodge called Propaganda Due, led by a remarkable scam artist named Licio Gelli. He was associated with Nazis, Communists, terrorists, and the Mafia, to name a few. But his connection to a shadowy group called Operation Gladio—supposedly a team of black ops left in Europe after WWII to guard against Communist takeovers—was too intriguing not to use.

My new release is The Mason's Mark: Love and Death in the Tower (an Old Town Romance) Secret Cravings Publishing (Published January 7, 2014)
ebook (79,000 words), Romantic Suspense, M/F, 3 Flames

Here's a summary of The Mason’s Mark:
In both the best and worst first day at work ever,  docent Claire Wilding meets the man of her dreams, but her carefully rehearsed guided tour of the George Washington National Masonic Memorial falls apart when she discovers a dead body. Together with Detective Ernest Angle, she's drawn into a dark world of black ops and Italian renegade masons. Also cloaked in mystery is her new love Gideon Bliss.  A George Washington expert, he haunts the Memorial, his manner evasive. What is his secret? Claire fears she'll fall in love with him only to learn he's a thief or even a murderer.

Juggling two eccentric mothers, an inquisitive sister, and an increasingly smitten Ernest, Claire must find answers to a complex web of intrigue, including which black ops agent to trust,  whether our first president strayed, and if she and Gideon will ever be together.
