Hello, gentle readers!
Well, Thanksgiving is over. All the cleaning and
prep work, and all the baking, made for a lovely holiday, even if it was
low-key for us this year (DH was not only sick, but he threw his back out as
well, and truthfully, I was feeling a little punky, too. Didn’t want to risk
anyone else becoming ill). I did make dinner, just on a much smaller scale than
I usually do (love those leftovers! Had my first turkey sandwich of the
season…I like it simple, just turkey and a little mayo on a King’s Hawaiian
roll…sort of a turkey slider, if you will). My DH thought it was funny that I
had already figured out what I would have for breakfast the day after (a big
slice of Dutch Apple Pie), even though I was full from dinner!
I had many things to be thankful for this year, as
I have for every year preceding this one. I am truly blessed and I count those
blessings every day.
I also took some much needed time off (the company
I work for has strict rules...you can only roll 40 Paid Time Off hours over to
the next year so it’s either use it or lose it). I chose to use it so…
What did I do with my time off aside from cooking
and cleaning? I read a little (until my eyes started to hurt) and wrote a
little (until I ran out of words) and then…I indulged in my favorite past-time
of movie watching.
Can’t tell you of all the movies I sat and watched
(or watched while I was doing something else…yeah, I do that. I don’t sit still
very well), but it was a restful couple day and I guess I really needed that
rest…which is just in time for the Christmas rush.
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday spent with
good friends and good food.
Until
next time, remember to spread kindness wherever you go.
Marie
