Well, it’s official. I am exhausted. I
am covered in hair. And my right arm is an inch longer than my left (my
shoulder, however, is still in its socket).
Why, you ask?
I took my girls to the vet this morning for their yearly check-up and shots.
They’re big girls. Very big! Huge!
I have two German Shepherds. Lacey is 119
pounds (biggest girl I’ve ever had…I don’t weight much more than she does).
Pepper, my little girl, really isn’t that much smaller. She’s 98 pounds. And
they’re both very, very strong (not to mention stubborn, like me).
I am petite—not tall at all,
even in my wildest imagination—so when they want to go somewhere different than
where I’m leading them…well, they just go. And drag me along— especially in a
place like the vet’s office, where there are strange sounds, stranger smells,
other dogs…and horror of horrors, cats (don’t get me wrong, I love cats…the
girls, however, aren’t too sure).
The upshot is that they’re very healthy
and happy (and very sweet…I love my girls) and I don’t have to do this for
another year, but seriously, I’m thinking of having someone come to the house,
one of those traveling vets.
For right now, though, I think I’ll take
a nap!
Until
next time, remember: No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
